Navy-Marine Corps Ball Committee Mission

The Navy-Marine Corps Ball Committee was established in 1914 by military spouses with the goals of raising funds to help service members and their families through the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) and hosting an annual Ball to celebrate the support of our contributors.

Since 1904, NMCRS has cared for members of the Naval Services. Last year, through its 250 offices located ashore and afloat around the world, with the generous donations of contributors, and including the enthusiastic support of the Navy and Marine Corps spouses who volunteer on the NMCB Committee, the NMCRS program included services such as:

            - Aid to one in every six active duty Sailors and Marines.

            - $46.7 Million in Emergency Aid—loans and grants.

            - $.7 Million in Educational Programs—scholarships and loans.

            - Visiting Nurse Program, including Combat Casualty Assistance to families.

            - Thrift shops, layettes, and food lockers.

            - Counseling, referrals and financial education.

As a charitable, non-profit organization, NMCRS depends on the generosity of corporations and individuals to carry on this vital support.  The 2011 NMCB Committee donated $590,000 to NMCRS and hosted a Ball for 1000 guests in recognition of those who honored our Nation’s defenders and their families by contributing to NMCRS.

The 97th Navy-Marine Corps Ball, to be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, will include dinner, dancing, and a Silent Auction.

            - 100% of all corporate and individual donations go directly to NMCRS.

            - Proceeds from ticket and table sales underwrite the cost of the Ball.

Through the dedicated support of American patriots, the Navy-Marine Corps Ball Committee will continue its mission to enable the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society to provide essential services to our Sailors, Marines and their families.
